The Festival of Code is the world’s largest hackathon, taking place around the world in 70+ centres. From the 27th – 30th July, each centre worked with open data to create web apps, mobile apps or physical hacks to present at a three day finale at the ICC, Birmingham. I worked as the Festival Logistics Lead on the event, making sure that every detail was correct from DBS checking those working with children, to ordering enough pizza to feed an army. With a team of 5 it was an incredible feat, but an event that not only did I enjoy working on but felt that I helped make a difference in the kids’ lives.
